I was asked to write an editorial for Uptime – an app that provides insights from leading podcasts, videos, non-fiction books, online courses, and documentaries to 2M global users.

I used this as an opportunity to talk about fear – specifically:
• The fear of what might happen.
• The fear of not being good enough.
• The fear of missing out.

This ended up being a really fun piece to write and it landed at around 2,000 words.

Take the Course!

Teaching someone how to wingsuit involves a lengthy in-person class that usually takes me around 4 hours to teach. So, when Squirrel asked if I wanted to help with their Online Wingsuit Ground School I happily volunteered to make this happen!

The result is an online ground school where Matt, Val, and I guide you through the foundations of what it’s like to wingsuit. You get to take the course on your own time and pace, which typically takes around 2-3 hours, and after the final test you can share the score with me to verify you’ve taken the course.

There is still a short in-person component to review and cover patterns and exits, but this is great for not cutting into the busy summer days when we’re jumping all day.

After Juan Mayer had a scary wingsuit water landing, Skydive Mag and untimately Squirrel reached out asking if I could write up a brief guide to water landings.

I did some research and then did real field testing where I jumped in to bodies of water with a wingsuit on so Zooey Souligny could capture images to add into the article.

It’s a 1000 word comprehensive article and definitely worth a read if you plan on jumping near water – wingsuit or not.

The Adventure Bound Podcast is for those believing that getting outside, breathing fresh air and taking risks along the way are crucial components to living a happy and fulfilled life. Host Rob Roy fields in-depth interviews with professional athletes, thrill seekers, entrepreneurs and everyday people who continually make conscious decisions to spend more time outdoors, while doing what they love, so you can too.

Nikko Mamallo is the kind of guy who jumps out of perfectly good airplanes… for fun. And he’s not just a skydiver, but a fully certified wingsuit coach and AFF instructor. On this episode we talk about how one can get involved in the sport, what the process looks like to go through AFF and get your license and even how to advance to wingsuit flying. As you’ll hear from Nikko’s story, skydiving and the thrill of adventure have forever changed his life.

I was featured by SONY Alpha Universe!

Here’s what they had to say about me:
“Nikko is not only a creative, artist and photographer…he’s also a skydiver, wingsuiter and pilot! He uses Sony Alpha mirrorless gear to capture fast skydiving and wingsuiting action, and you have to give him a follow to see the results. See the teaser below he took using the Sony α7 III.”

(No Longer Available Online)

I recorded a podcast with my friend Gregr at 107.7 The End for his segment “So, You’re In Seattle…”

You can’t find this online anymore (or at least I couldn’t), but in it we talk about how I used to be the “President” of the radio station (and how I kind of still am) and why on earth I would want to jump out of airplanes.
